“A person enters a setting with their appearance and leaves with their thoughts.”
Your personal style tells others a story about you. Just as there is no one else exactly like you, your style is unique to you and forms an important part of your image. Personal image is the perception we create in our own minds and in the minds of others. Even when you’re not present in a setting, people remember and talk about you in that way. The extent to which a person leaves a lasting impression on others is directly proportional to their personal style.
According to the latest research, first impressions are formed in just 17 seconds. While 38% of this time is influenced by your tone of voice and only 7% by the words you use, your appearance and personal style account for a significant 55%. As the importance of personal style continues to grow today, seeking the services of a style consultant helps individuals achieve their professional and social goals more quickly.
Our founder, MCC Professional Expert Coach Berna Türköver, discusses the coaching profession on TV shows.
A style consultant is a guide who helps clients refresh their personal style and image in a way that aligns with their purpose and supports their specific goals. A style consultant helps clients determine a style appropriate for their social and professional lives as they work toward their goals, while selecting the right colors, shades, cuts, fabrics, and well-fitted garments and accessories based on their body type. In this way, the client is able to present themselves to the outside world with confidence as they wish, while also building an effective personal brand. Another aspect of style consulting is the opportunity to work not only with individuals but also with corporate firms. A style consultant can develop dress codes for corporate firms and support employees in updating their personal styles and dressing appropriately within the guidelines of the workplace.
While style consulting is one of today’s most in-demand professions, the training program covers a wide range of topics. In style consulting training, participants begin by conducting their own style analysis; they then apply what they’ve learned to themselves, using the new insights gained, and have the opportunity to improve the areas where they feel they are lacking. As a result, by the end of the training program, participants complete the course with a broad range of knowledge—from the factors that shape the fashion industry to how to shop effectively.
