In the 1960s, British psychologist Tony Buzan believed that studying course material taught at the university using traditional methods was quite complicated and not sufficiently efficient. According to Buzan, by using keywords, images, and diagrams—and engaging both hemispheres of the brain simultaneously—students could learn the same material much more easily, retain it in their memories, and explain it to their peers and instructors.
Buzan, who began his work with the aim of presenting complex and detailed information in a limited space in a way that would be easy to remember, developed a method of information representation called “Mind Map” toward the end of the 1960s. Through his books, Buzan introduced the “Mind Mapping” method to the world and established a fundamental system that would make life easier for many people. Essentially, what he did was stop forcing traditional methods onto the creative mind and instead reflect the workings of the human mind in the medium itself.
Mind Maps, also known as Mind Maps, aim to unlock the brain’s functional power; they are in harmony with the brain’s functions and facilitate the emergence of ideas and thoughts. Mind maps enable us to recall learned information whenever we want; they allow us to retain information learned at the beginning of the year with the same freshness until the end of the year and to effectively recall and apply what we’ve learned during exams. Students who learn to use mind maps can summarize an entire unit on a single page and commit it to memory so they won’t forget it.
